Professor Piggly's Plant is all about friendship.  Alison and I have been using this story to promote making and giving friendship bracelets - remember those!?  There is something about giving that makes children feel an incredible sense of pride, especially when they made the gift by hand.  Here are some links for easy to make bracelets that we have had success with for ages 4 and up:

Kumihimo Braiding - Kuminimo is Japanese for 'gathering threads'.  Think about the friendship lessons you could create here!

Candy Stripe - These are the classic ones I remember making when I grew up.  Use as many or as few colors as you like!
